At the Institute of Education and Training our approach to continuous improvement is to receive meaningful feedback from students, learners, observers and other relevant people. Our aim is to include this feedback into our considerations of strategies that improve the quality of training and assessment, and the associated experiences aimed at ensuring all who train with us receive high quality training.

At the Institute of Education and Training our approach to enrolment and induction is to provide a pathway for students to make informed decisions about their training and assessment and enter a training pathway that is the right fit for the student and their current or future employer.
We strive to identify a student’s needs during the enrolment process to ensure that our services to each individual student are appropriately adjusted to allow for their unique requirements.

The Standards for RTOS 2015 require the Institute of Education and Training to inform persons considering enrolment, of their right to a statutory cooling off period. We offer the statutory 10 day cooling off period to our consumers allowing them to withdraw, without penalty, from a consumer agreement, where that agreement was established through unsolicited marketing or sales tactics. It is important to note, the Institute of Education and Training does not engage in unsolicited marketing or sales tactics such as door-to-door sales and telemarketing.
A full refund of any fees paid will be applicable if a student exercises their right to the cooling off period. If the student has received any materials, the student can either return them un-used and undamaged. In the case the materials are used or damaged, the student will be liable for the costs of these which will be deducted from any refund due.
In the unlikely event that the Institute of Education and Training is unable to deliver the course as promised, the student will be issued with a mutually agreeable time or a full refund for any portion of the course that was not completed.

In accordance with the requirements of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations, the Institute of Education and Training provides the opportunity for students to apply to have prior learning recognised toward a qualification or units of competency for which they are enrolled. Recognition involves the assessment of previously unrecognised skills and knowledge an individual has achieved outside the formal education and training system. Any student is entitled to apply for recognition in a course or qualification in which they are currently enrolled. Students may not apply for recognition for units of competency or qualification which are not included in the Institute of Education and Training’s scope of registration. Please contact us for more information or to discuss further.
The Institute of Education and Training acknowledges the requirement as a Registered Training Organisation to recognise the awards issued by other RTOs. This is limited to outcomes that are drawn from the national skills framework being units of competency awarded and accurately identified in statements of attainment and qualifications.
The Institute of Education and Training is committed to providing a fair and transparent complaint and appeal handling process. A complaint or appeal may be received by the Institute of Education and Training in any form and does not need to be formally documented by the complainant in order to be acted on
Frequently, the complaint or appeal handling process will expose weaknesses in the training and assessment or administrative system that can flow into the continuous improvement system as opportunities for improvement. This outcome of complaint and appeal handling is very positive and it is for this reason that complaints received from stakeholders should be seen in a positive light and as opportunities for improvement.
Complaints or appeals must be made directly to the Institute of Education and Training in the first instance and before any complaint is made to ASQA.
At the Institute of Education and Training we acknowledge that students may need access to their records in order to monitor their progress and participation. The Institute of Education and Training will facilitate access to records to a student on request.
